Notes

These were the first new vehicles purchased by Deep Springs in a long time, the norm being military surplus or well used farm implements. Ranch Manager Merritt Holloway asked me to line them up and take pictures to give to the Trustees. The C60 2-ton truck was bought without a bed, and the bed from the early 1950's International (with a detachable cattle rack) was moved to this truck. A camper shell was bought for the C20 pickup, and it was used for driver's trips. Both trucks were used on DSSB trips, at a time when riding in open trucks was tolerated. The Case tractor was the first wheeled diesel tractor at Deep Springs, to my knowledge. It was the one Michael Pihos DS98 was driving when he was killed, 28 years later. DEC 2/2018
