Notes

The windmill's rotary motion is converted to up-and-down linear motion, and a long rod connects to a flapper valve moving up and down in the well casing, to raise water with each stroke. A threaded joint in this rod kept loosening (and the rod had to be fished out each time), and welding the connector solved this problem
