Notes

The significance of this paper is that Walcott was an early associate of LL Nunn (his three sons were Pinheads), and he may have been the person who told Nunn about Deep Springs Valley as a possible location for Nunn's projected school. There are also descriptions of his travels, including meeting teamster Lewis Payson. Photos Walcott took on this trip are also available in USGS archives. I have replaced two of the photos in this paper with those originals to improve the quality from the original scan. DEC 11/2018.
